Fun in the Sun at Grandma's and Papa's

This honestly has to be my all time favorite trip to my in-laws. We went to Shelley Idaho and stayed with them for a week. My wonderful mother-in-law (who I dearly adore!!!) watched the girls and I got to go work with Aaron. Not that I don't love my kids but it sure is nice to get away from them once in a while and just be with Aaron. Actually Olivia was helping too (more than me at times) and we thought it was fun spending some alone time with her. She worked very hard. We made a playhouse, Abby's (the dog) shelter and 3 shelters for the cows up at the ranch. I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of 'The Ranch', it's gorgeous there. 48 acres of beauty. 3 horses (but our favorite is Roxy) and lots of cows. The view is spectacular, the weather was great and the thought of that hot tub on the deck doesn't hurt either.
Thanks mom and dad Sharp for having us. It was so fun, you probably couldn't tell by all the bruises I got from working but I had a great time.
We all got to be in the 4th of July ad for CAL Ranch. Here the girls are running through the sprinklers for the commercial/paper.

We took the new boat out for a spin. The girls all got in and swam around until they had blue lips. It was COLD. Aaron entertained us with a few backflips off the back of the boat. We kept wishing we had brought our wakeboards with us!! Darn it.

Looks like Lisa is are go to gal. I hope things are going well for you. The last time I saw you was when I was in SLC w/my girls (Young Women) They released me long enough to recover from having a baby and put me back to work. I love it in there. So in January Aaron said he was going to the reunion...and yes, I am going too...but my hubby can't go :( He can't take any time in July since that is when new residents start. Silly things my girls say.

Last night I was dishing up dinner on everyone's plates and Jocelyn looked at me and said, "Mom, you're like the servant, huh?" (They've been watching Cinderella and Rapunzel lately). So I said, "What do you mean?" And she said, "Well, Dad is like the King and we are the princesses and you are our servant!"

So we're driving in the car and Olivia announces: "Ewwwww, I smell a STUNK". Sure enough there was a skunk on the side of the road.

Mom: Makell, eat your food. Do you know there are some kids in this world that don't have anything to eat? You should be grateful you have food.

Makell: (After thinking for a minute) Mom, can we send my food to those kids? (She's either really nice or really didn't like dinner that night.)

The other day there was a fly on the counter (so gross I know). I started explaining the food chain...flies eat our food, fishes eat the flies, we eat the fishes and the worms eat us (yah, I know, too much info for a five year old but hang in here with me).

Olivia: Is that why worms are pink?

Olivia: (After counting up to everyone's ages.) "Mom, you're the winner!"

I guess being the oldest has it's perks. I'll always win that race hands down!

Jocelyn: Got my swimoot on!

Aaron was eating a handful of cashews. Makell came over to him and said "Dad I want some nuts."

Aaron then said, "Yeah, I want you to have nuts too."

We bought the girls some "Pet Shop" toys. (Very small toys). They were playing in the dirt with them outside and lost them.

Dad: "Where are your toys girls?"

Olivia: "Dad! You bought us magic toys! They disappeared!"

(Reader Beware)

Makell: "I'm peein' out my bum!"

Poor baby had the trots.

Olivia, upon seeing a bra at the store announced loudly, "Mom, this is for your milks!"

TAGGED...

Well my sister-in-law Alyson "tagged" me. I'm supposed to write 6 things that are unknown or unusual about myself, then choose six other people. So here goes...

1. First I think it's finally so nice to be getting to the age where I really don't care so much about what everyone thinks. You may have thought that I didn't care before because my house might be messy or you might have seen me w/o make-up on. Well you thought wrong. I used to care then and be super embarrased, but now I don't care too much and it wouldn't even cross my mind tomorrow.

2. I like cold mac-n-cheese. You know, the kind that's been in the fridge since yesterday and it's all stuck together.

3. I want to move to Costa Rica for a year. Yes, seriously. Out of the next 60 years I'm going to live I want at least ONE of them to be extraordinarily unusual.

4. I hate call-waiting. It's an intrusion when someone's calling me and it's rude to put me on hold to talk to another friend for ten minutes while I'm waiting. If it's an emergency or a super important call you've been waiting for all day then I'm happy to wait or hang up, but just to yak with another friend..no way.

5. I think Tom Selleck is HOT! Yes, I know he's old and yes Aaron already knows. He's a babe. Love that chest hair Magnum!

6. My favorite popcorn is the almost popped, just starting to open kernels at the bottom of the bowl. They don't break your teeth like normal kernels, they've got a fantastic crunch!

So that's just a few of my peculiar oddities and unknowns. Now I am supposed to "TAG" six others. So, gotcha--I choose Lisa, Gabrielle, Staci, April, Heather and Lora.
